Invented by a surfer for surfers, Wave House maintains its roots to its surf heritage, designing new and exciting ways to push the envelope of wave riding and creating a place to experience the California beach lifestyle.
At its core are the waves, where anyone from first timers to pros can experience the thrill of riding a wave. However, Wave House is much more than a place to get barreled. Wave House is a lifestyle entertainment venue, combining the waves with a bar & grill, live music, special events, and branded merchandise. Wave House’s flexible design can accommodate a range of footprints enabling the California dream to come to a place near you.
Flowboarding
Flowboarding isn't a ride, it's a sport…a 21st century alchemy that has the look of surfing, the carves of snowboarding, the tricks of skateboarding and boards derived from all of the above. Since the early 90's, from the mountains to the sea, the world’s best board riders have cross pollinated into flowboarding, helping to spread the word about this exciting new sport.
The sport of flowboarding is skill-based, complete with a learning curve and the challenges and achievements that come with it. Flowboarding is aspirational; see someone do a new trick and you want to learn how to do it too. It's not your father's waterslide that gets less exciting after each ride. Every time you flowboard is a new experience that leaves you wanting more and brings you back again.
The FlowRider®
The FlowRider® generates a thin sheet of water that flows over a stationary wave form. The resulting sheet flow permits flowboarders and body boarders to slide down, carve turns, and ride up the wave surface, emulating the maneuvers of other board sports. Although the FlowRider® may appear daunting, it's one of the industry’s safest attractions and is the perfect way for guests of all skill levels to experience the sport of flowboarding.
The FlowBarrel™
Exclusive to the Wave House, the FlowBarrel™ pushes a continuous sheet of 125,000 gallons of water per minute at speeds up to 30 mph across a curved 10’ wall that forces the water to go vertical before tipping into a curl, creating a perfect man-made barrel for boardriders. The wave itself is a spectacle that draws crowds. Just add riders and you have the perfect entertainment vehicle for viewers and riders alike.
